As a Lecturer at the University of Rennes 1, a Doctor of Law and the Director for the Diploma in Corporate Legal Consulting course in Rennes, Danièle BRIAND has an academic background and is renowned for her expertise in all areas of economic law.
In 2000, Danièle BRIAND joined the Competition Council as an external Rapporteur and was responsible for examining anti-competitive practice cases.
After joining the Rennes bar in 2007, Danièle BRIAND worked in the field of economic law for many years with several Law Firms.
In 2010, Danièle BRIAND created her own Firm in order to pursue her activity independently. She is a member of the International Economic Law Association and of the Euro-African Institute of Economic Law.
As a lawyer specialising in commercial, business, competition, international and EU law, Danièle BRIAND has renowned expertise in competition law and economic regulations, as well as in distribution law (business contracts, distribution networks), particularly in the agri-food, service, paper, construction and fishing sectors.
Stanislas WELLHOFF joined the bar in 2009 and worked for 6 years at the Paris Bar in major French and American Firms specialising in intellectual property and economic law.
He moved to Rennes in 2015, where he was a colleague of Danièle BRIAND before they joined forces together.
Stanislas WELLHOFF became a bilingual lawyer in English thanks to his international career and holds a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property. He works in copyright, trademarks, designs, models patents and new technologies, as well as in distribution law (exclusive and selective, cooperation agreements, commercial contracts) and competition law (restrictive practices and unfair competition).
He has specific expertise in franchising law and teaches the subject in English at the University of Rennes 1 (IGR-IAE) on the Master’s course entitled Franchising, Retail & Service Chains.
Danielle CAPOBIANCO holds a postgraduate diploma in business law (DESS) and a master’s in corporate law (DJCE). She has successively held the positions of in-house lawyer, General Counsel and Group Compliance General Counsel at the world’s largest dairy group, LACTALIS.
She therefore has in-depth knowledge of the corporate world and extensive experience in both general and specialist legal advice.
She has notably gained her expertise in the fields of agri-food industry, supplier-distributor relations, contracts, competition issues, litigation and compliance programmes.
Irrespective of the activity area, Danielle CAPOBIANCO has always prioritised prevention by continually ensuring that her contacts have sufficient practical awareness of the applicable rules of law, enabling them to maintain compliance vis-à-vis their activities within the company.
In recent years, prevention has become an issue of fundamental importance for Danielle; in her capacity as Group Compliance General Counsel, she has developed the LACTALIS Group’s Compliance Programme, both in France and abroad.
Since 2007, Danielle CAPOBIANCO has also been a guest lecturer at Rennes University for the DJCE master’s course.
After 40 years in business and with comprehensive operational experience, Danielle CAPOBIANCO joined BRIAND & WELLHOFF law firm in the post of Counsel in order to share her expertise of the business world and its associated rules of law.
